Composite boardwalk structures support floating bathing pavilion in Gibraltar

Marinetek, one of the leading international marina builders, has delivered a large floating bathing pavilion for the Government of Gibraltar, creating a landmark waterfront destination for recreation and leisure.
Spanning approximately 2,600 square metres, the floating pavilion forms the centrepiece of a wider activity park designed for visitors of all ages. The floating complex includes four swimming pools, including one with a jump tower, as well as two outdoor fitness areas, a children’s play park, a parkour park and an impressive climbing wall inspired by the Rock of Gibraltar.
The floating facilities are complemented by a land-based development featuring a boardwalk, sunbathing areas, an outdoor bar, changing rooms and landscaped green spaces. Together, these elements create a seamless link between the floating pavilion and the surrounding shoreline.
The boardwalk support structures are made from pultruded fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites by Exel Composites. With their lightweight structure, corrosion resistance and long service life, pultruded composites are well suited to demanding marine environments and long-term outdoor use.
