We are searching for a

Business Unit CONTROLLER

in our Erlanger office in the United States of America. You will report to the President of Exel US.

 

The objective of this Business Unit Controller position is to be responsible and actively support and contribute for Finance, controlling, legal, risk management and IT matters and the development in the BU to support the profitable growth as part of the BU management team.

 

You will be responsible for


• Business Unit Controller continuously seeks for opportunities to improve the financial performance of the BU and gives suggestions to President and Group Controller for development opportunities, such as eliminating costs, finding synergies, boosting the efficiency, etc.


• The Business Unit Controller reports to the President of Exel US and is a member of the BU’s Management Team.


• Business Unit Controller provides and interprets financial information on a timely basis to assist in the understanding and improvement of the performance of Exel Composites.  Exel US is a recent acquisition to Exel Composites and continues to integrate its systems with the overall organization.


• In this position the incumbent actively participates in the management of the business to achieve required financial results, both in the short and longer term. He / she ensures the company complies with company reporting, statutory and legal obligations, and group policy and manages the BU’s Finance/Administration and IT functions.


• Develop and run the BU’s finance and treasury functions including efficient internal and external reporting according to Controllers’ Manual and local legislation. Management of Working Capital requirements to work force requirements to maximize cash flows.


• Manage the credit and cash collection activities.


• Provide management team with updated information weekly on the KPI for the business. Make sure all monthly, quarterly and annual company financial and tax reporting is made timely and exactly. Ensure accuracy of information recorded for actual costs of production jobs and comparisons against standard costs.  


• Support the company and business unit by efficient IT solutions and systems.  Lead the business units integration to the new ERP system – Epicor.


• Gives support to sales reviewing the terms and conditions if deviating from company standard.


• Support the BU in general administrative issues.


• Improve and develop policies and procedures to ensure accuracy of valuation of inventories particularly for manufactured products.


• Liaison with company auditors and tax advisers. Continue to develop systems to ensure to get good audit result


Desired skills and competencies


• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance required, CPA or CMA preferred


• 10+ years’ hands-on experience in general accounting, finance and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment; IT management experience a plus.


• Expertise in budgeting, planning, inventory and internal control


• Deep understanding of financial and accounting rules and practices including local and IFRS rules.


• Good legal knowledge of business-related laws and regulations, corporate governance.


• Excellent interpersonal, team building and leadership skills.


• Strong project management skills.

 

• Strong MS Office skills.


• Fluent written and spoken English, other language skills beneficial.


• Must hold the right to work in USA, sponsorship not available.
